The Roots of Bold Horizons

Bold Horizons Therapy Center was born from a singular, powerful belief: that every individual possesses an innate capacity for healing, resilience and growth.

Founded by Beatrice Kamau, a dedicated, compassionate and client-focused Counseling Psychologist, our center was established to bridge the often-fragmented gap between clinical mental health care and the holistic well-being of the whole person.

With a foundation built at Africa International University and extensive experience in hospital-based psychological services, we recognised that true mental health requires more than just listening — it requires a structured, compassionate and evidence-based approach.

Beatrice Nduta Kamau

My journey into the field of psychology began with a simple but profound belief: that everyone deserves a space where they feel truly heard, understood and empowered. As a Counseling Psychologist, I have dedicated my career to bridging the gap between clinical expertise and the lived, human experience.

I am a proud graduate of Africa International University, and my path has been shaped by a diverse range of professional and service-oriented roles. My training included a formative attachment at a school, where I learned the critical importance of supporting mental health within an educational setting — sparking my passion for early intervention and building resilience in younger populations.

Following my studies, I gained valuable insight into community-based support through my work at an NGO, where I witnessed the power of accessible psychological care in addressing complex life challenges. My commitment to service continues in my ongoing role as a volunteer with the Kenya Red Cross, contributing to emergency response and community well-being.

These experiences, combined with my time as a Hospital Psychologist, have taught me that mental strength is not just about overcoming obstacles — it is about cultivating the resources needed to thrive in every aspect of life.

Yes. Confidentiality is the cornerstone of our therapeutic relationship. What you share in our sessions is private and protected. The only exceptions are specific legal or safety requirements — such as if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others — which we will discuss in detail during our initial intake session.
Standard individual counselling sessions at Bold Horizons are 90 minutes long. This allows enough time for deep processing and goal-setting while respecting your schedule.
This is unique to every individual. Some clients find clarity and tools to manage their challenges in just a few sessions, while others benefit from a longer, more structured engagement. We will work together to review your progress and determine the best path forward for your specific needs.
